Paul and Kim Riedel have operated Straight Up Construction since its establishment in 1997 and from the beginning, quality was number one. Projects range from renovating a bathroom to building a 1.2 million dollar horse arena. The strength of the business is building quality, not quantity, specialising in bespoke family homes.
The business has grown through word of mouth and is a member of Certified Builders which allows Straight Up Construction to offer a ten-year guarantee on all new builds. Straight Up Construction enjoys excellent brand success and a well-deserved reputation, within the Taupo building industry, specialising in New Architectural homes and Architectural Renovations. Straight Up Construction has won a range of workmanship awards and one of its houses won first place in the New Zealand National Architectural Awards.
Straight Up Construction has two rental properties in Taupo available to clients who build with them. This enables both the client and Straight Up Construction security of accommodation during the build.
Straight Up Construction is also involved in voluntary work through Habitat for Humanity. Assistance was given to complete 2 homes for families in Taupo. Three staff volunteered in Samoa to help rebuild after the Tsunami in 2009.

Staff
Owner/operator Paul Riedel, is a carpenter as well as a qualified architectural designer, with many years experience. Paul trained in the army then spent three years building overseas. On his return to Taupo he started Straight Up Construction in 1997.
Paul and Kim have been married for 31 years and have 4 children.
